Introducing Marti Welborn

On February 1st, Marti Welborn moved to Powell, Wyoming and started working with Positive Progressions. She enjoys helping people through marriage and family therapy, with a special focus on reuniting parents with their children.  She is also certified in addiction counseling and has recently received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. Previously, she received her Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Northwest College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation from Montana State University Billings. She completed her internship at WellSpring Counseling in Thermopolis, Wyoming. While attending college she worked at Rimrock Foundation, the Gateway Foundation for domestic violence, family services, and has worked with parents trying to reunite with their children at the Mental Health Clinic in Miles City, Montana. She then moved back to Cody, Wyoming and worked to facilitate inpatient recovery at the Yellowstone Recovery Center for two years. Marti founded the equine therapy program while working with clients at the center.

Marti was raised on a farm in Montana, has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. During her free time she enjoys the outdoors including gardening, home projects, horses, camping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
